Hunting Trip (Part 1)

What started out being a hunting trip with Joe, my dad, and brother, ended up with Joe, my dad, brother, 2 of Joe's brothers, and last minute my mom, as well as me and the kids. I was a little hesitant about it at first because it was supposed to be a boys' trip and Joe's brothers were flying in from California to go with him, so I was afraid we would be in the way, and then just stressing about how my kids would sleep and behave. Not that they were perfect in any way but I think they did great and we had a great time. It may have been more fun and more quiet without us but everyone was nice and let us join in on the fun. And one of my favorite parts of the trip was that we had a chef. He came and cooked us breakfast, lunch, and dinner, prepared it and cleaned it up. I didn't have to think about what to fix for my family once the whole time. It was wonderful! And the food was awesome!!

I even tagged along with my dad once and my little brother once hunting to see what it was like. I was with my brother when he shot a deer, and then with my dad we saw absolutely nothing the whole time. But it was something fun and different that I've never done before. The kids loved going on the four wheelers (or motorcycles as Weston called them). We found a paddle boat, that Sam and Joe emptied out and got started. My kids were there when a pig was killed, which they enjoyed. They even wanted to watch it get skinned and all the stuff that happens after it is shot. Hannah just didn't enjoy being held upside down next to one that was being weighed...

We rode on the "highback" at night and used a spot light to find animals at night. The kids loved sitting up so high. We had a bonfire and made s'mores, we played a fun game where both Abby and Hannah made some money. The kids loved playing shuffleboard. Weston could play for hours and use the little puck things to make towers and then knock them down. It was a lot of fun and my kids even slept all night every night.

My dad, Preston, and Joe just got home from hunting (Preston was trying to grab a hat for the picture, he really didn't wear that)

Weston playing shuffleboard

He loves rocks...running nose and all

The whole gang plus the guy who invited us' son

And Estella (my dad's friend who invited us' wife) was sweet and stayed back to play with Audrey so we could all go on the 4 wheelers
