Hannah's Birthday

So turning 2 was not so exciting for Hannah this year. Last Friday was my littlest girl's birthday, June 12. We started to plan a triple bday party with 2 of her friends that are almost the same age, but then it turned out to be too much work and not worth it for me at this time. So she woke up on her birthday to no presents since I can't get to the store much these days and she woke up at 6am compared to her 8-8:30am usual wake up time. Not sure if she knew it was her birthday or why the early rising happened. So we were all up ready and bathed by 8 am. And we all made cupcakes together with a store bought mix and store bought frosting. I'm all about easy these days. They had fun eating as then went.

Then we left to make a short trip to Austin to borrow a car (since Joe's no longer is usable) and celebrate her birthday with my parents. Somewhere between getting in the car and getting out in Austin, Hannah's temperature rose to 103.3. She had been fine all day and now she had a bad fever. Wonderful. We got there around 9pm and tried to make her open presents and have cake that my mom whipped together and decorated so cute b/c of my uneventful planning of Hannah's birthday. It wasn't going to happen as you can see by the pictures. A little embarrassed she has a binkie in her mouth, we are working on it and she only has it at bedtime but she was not feeling good and had been asleep in the car. But Abby on the other hand was quite excited and she even got her own present. Thanks to my mom for making everything work out without any help from me along with matching wrapping paper and everything.

So Saturday we headed to the lake thinking it would be fun to take the girls since they enjoyed it so much last year. Yep, well not this year. Abby screamed pretty much the whole time to go back to Nana's and she missed her (she was home watching Weston). And she was terrified for some reason thinking the boat would go under water and terrified of getting in the water, although she did decide to go on the tube with Joe for about 2 seconds. And Hannah was still not feeling good. But at least we got to tube and Joe skied. Pretty sure I'm not ready to do that again quite yet.

When we got home we tried a second round of Hannah opening presents and having cake. It was successful although not too exciting b/c I think she still wasn't feeling so well. We then finished the day with swimming. And that was the extent of her birthday.


But we still love her even though she is a little crazy at times!!

Hannah:

• loves Strawberry Shortcake and Dora
• is always singing either "Happy Birthday" or "Twinkle Twinkle" or "ABCs." I love hearing her sing all the time and one of these days I'll get it on tape
• is very active and does not know how to sit still or be quiet
• loves her big sister and little brother
• has got quite the attitude and is so dramatic (takes after her big sister)
• loves shoes but is very picky about the ones she wears
• always refers to herself in 3rd person
• doesn't always do well with new people still although has improved dramatically
• is very polite and almost always says "thank you" and "welcome"
• loves chewing gum, she finally has it down that your not supposed to swallow it
• will still sometimes call water "gul-ee-gul"...I will be sad when she no longer refers to it that way, now she switches back and forth
