Easter Week Excitement

One night last week, the school district we are in had a reading fair. The kids all got books, made newspaper hats, got their faces painted, saw the Chick Fil A cow and Darth Vader (kinda random), colored, etc. They had a lot of fun. My phone was dying so I had no flash on my camera, and didn't bring in the good camera, so no pictures. And the same night Joe won tickets to the symphony, so he took Abby (and the camera) while I took the other 2 home to go to bed.

Joe had Friday off work, so we headed up to Austin for a long weekend at my parents'. We enjoyed the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt, swimming, laying by the pool, playing outside, yummy food, playing with cousins, another Easter Egg Hunt on Easter. Oh and celebrating Weston's birthday a little early with some birthday cake.

Minus Weston deciding he wasn't going to sleep there, we had a great trip. He has always been the best sleeper out of all the kids by far. He NEVER wakes up in the night, sleeps in, and still takes awesome naps. The first night was great as well as nap time the next day. We had put him in their crib since that was easier while we were there even though he sleeps in a bed now. But the next night, I'm still not sure what happened. We put him in the crib and said our good nights. Next thing we know he's out of the crib and playing upstairs and coming down the stairs, over and over. So we thought maybe if we put him in a bed he would stay. Nope. But he just thought he was the coolest kid ever smiling and laughing, it was a little hard to get mad at him. So then we got out the pack 'n play hoping that would work. Nope, he climbed right out of that too. Joe locked the bedroom door from the inside, and Weston unlocked it and came out. So we gave up. From then on we had to lay with him until he fell asleep, which was kind of nice since we hardly do that. But now that we are home, he is back in his room with no more issues.
